From brief to launch, step by step
Here is what happens, what I need from you and when the payments happen, before you commit to a project.
- Tell me about the job. Start with a short brief. I read it and come back with the pages I'd suggest, a fixed quote and available start dates.
- Book your dates. If the quote suits you, a 50% deposit holds the agreed dates. We arrange the interview. If you cancel before that interview, your deposit is refunded in full.
- Talk for 45 minutes. Tell me what you do, who calls you, the questions they ask and where you work. Send your logo, photos and any licence details. I take notes and plan the pages.
Illustrative brief · fictional business. - See your home page first. Review the direction, wording and layout of the home page, with one list of feedback. You can continue, or stop at this first look and have your deposit refunded in full. We confirm your decision to continue in writing; asking for an adjustment alone does not approve the remaining build.

First homepage look · fictional business. - Review the complete site. I write and build the remaining pages. You have two rounds of changes to the complete site after the first look. Send each round as one list. A change of scope is quoted before work starts.
- Go live and get your files. You pay the remaining 50% before launch. The site goes live on your domain, you receive the final files and your twelve included months of hosting and one-hour edit credit begin.
You bring the facts. I turn them into pages.
I’m Robin, based in Caloundra. I write and build the site myself. ABN 81 665 847 885 · More about how I work.
You provide: the interview, your services and prices, the areas you genuinely cover, photos you're allowed to use, any licence or registration details, domain access and feedback.
I do: the page plan, writing, design, build, form checks and launch. I send drafts for you to approve rather than guessing at your qualifications, guarantees or services.
If a photo, access or decision is missing, I'll tell you what is needed before the next step. We agree the schedule in the quote and update it together if the content or scope changes.
Before the interview, think about the jobs you want more of, the questions you answer most often and the furthest area you actually serve. Gather your logo, usable work photos and any licence or registration details. I can tell you which extra photos would help; a photo shoot is not included.
Three different things to own or control
- Domain: the address, renewed with your registrar in your name.
- Hosting: the service that makes the site available online, through a plan or a provider you choose.
- Website: the final pages, files and written content delivered once paid, with any third-party licences identified.
What happens if the project changes?
If more pages, writing or functionality are needed, I describe the difference and quote it before doing that work. If access, photos or feedback are delayed, we agree the next date rather than pretending the original schedule still fits. The written agreement sets out pause and cancellation terms before you pay a deposit.
Before it goes live
You approve the pages and we check the contact route, mobile layout and agreed links. The final 50% is paid before launch. The handover explains the files, domain settings, the twelve included hosting months and how to use the one-hour edit credit before approving paid requests.

No; the writing is part of the package.
Can you start without domain access?
We can discuss the page plan, but launch needs the agreed access and records.
Will anything be published without approval?
The site and agreed new plan content are sent for approval before publication.

Tell me about your business, the area you cover and what customers should do next. I'll read it and confirm the scope and price before you decide to book.
